Parkinson has not disappointed. He has overseen back-to-back promotions, with Wrexham bouncing straight through League Two after claiming the National League title in record-breaking style.
Parkinson has passed 200 games in charge of the Red Dragons and boasts a win ratio of over 60 per cent. He is a legend in the eyes of many, but others have asked questions of his methods — with accusations of favouring a defensive mindset seemingly never far away.
McElhenney and Reynolds are, however, fully supportive of the man they asked to fill the dugout, with the former posting on social media after seeing Wrexham claim another crucial victory over Burton Albion: “This team, this coach, this staff, this town… legendary.”
